Muhammad Fayyaz's Story

“He has been through the toil of surgery twice already but the pain and the issue keep returning over and over. Our father is growing old and his ability to withstand constant pain is also decreasing. I pray every day for help to arrive so that he can finally be free from pain and live out his old age in comfort.” – Muhamad Fayyaz’s younger son.

Since the last 8 years, Muhammad Fayyaz has been struggling with a paraumbilical hernia. He underwent 2 operations for it during those years but neither operation was successful. As a result, the hernia has returned for the 3rd time now. In the last two months, he has been experiencing sharp constant pain in his lower back that has affected his mobility. In order to find relief, he needs to undergo a mesh hernioplasty- a surgical procedure to repair the hernia.

For both past surgeries, Muhammad Fayyaz visited local hospitals and was able to get them conducted for free. This time, he has not managed to get an appointment there so he has to seek private treatment, which is proving unaffordable for him and his family. The surgery cost is high and he only earns 18,000 PKR as a daily wager. Although his two sons work and collectively earn around 30,000 PKR a month, they have their own families to support. Not in the financial state to pay for the surgery, Muhammad Fayyaz and his family have asked Transparent Hands for help.

Muhammad Fayyaz's Story

Muhammad Fayyaz, 60 years old, had a long standing lump in his umbilical region. He was diagnosed as a case of paraumblical hernia (PUH). It had gradually increased in size and started causing pain. He was advised surgery to fix it. His operation was done on 17-04-20 in Lahore Care Hospital, by Dr Ahmed Fawad. His mesh hernioplasty was done. He was discharged after two days of hospital stay.
