Muhammad Banaras's Story
“3 years ago, we almost lost our father to a heart attack. It was one of the scariest experiences of our lives. We weren’t even aware at that time that he has a heart condition. After the attack, we took him to the hospital near our village and the doctors informed us that an angiography is needed for further investigation. We have been struggling to get his angiography done ever since but have not been successful due to our financial circumstances. I am just afraid that if we don’t do something soon enough, we might lose him for good.”- Muhammad Banaras’s eldest son talked to TH
Muhammad Banaras, 70 years old, is a patient of ischemic heart disease. The onset of his condition was almost 3 years ago and he has been waiting ever since to receive proper medical attention. In his day to day life, his condition imposes several difficulties on him. He has frequent chest pains and cannot exert or work for extended periods of time.
Muhammad Banaras and his wife live with 2 of their sons in a small house in Chakwal. Banaras himself earns around 12,000 PKR a month as a laborer but for the past few months, has been unable to work regularly. Both his sons are laborers as well and have similar modest incomes. So far, with a lot of difficulties, Banaras and his sons have been meeting the expenses of his medicines. A costly interventional procedure such as angiography, however, is beyond their means.
When the family found out that Transparent Hands might be able to aid them, they immediately contact for help.
