Mehran Khan's Story

21-year-old Mehran Khan had been living in an uncomfortable and painful condition, for two years. He did not like to talk about it with anyone. Observing the difficult situation of his younger brother, Mehran’s elder brother took him to the hospital. The doctor examined him and diagnosed his condition as hemorrhoids. These are swollen veins present in the lower rectal region. They can be located internally or externally. For Mehran’s case, the doctor recommended a surgery termed as hemorrhoidectomy. It helps to remove hemorrhoids and is regarded as the most effective treatment for them.

The visit to the doctor did clarify the cause of his suffering but presented an even bigger problem for them, because the cost of the surgery was completely out of their budget. Mehran does not have a job yet and his entire family is dependent on his brother’s income. His conscience did not allow him to add to his brother’s worries so he decided not to go through with the surgery.
