Donate to Ijaz Masih for His Right Ankle Arthrodesis
Ijaz Masih's Story
Life took an unexpected turn for 53-year-old Ijaz Masih when he started experiencing pain in his right ankle four years back. Initially, he ignored it and thought it was exhaustion due to the extensive distance that he had to cover on foot from his home to his workplace. But the pain did not settle and became unbearable with the passage of time. It got to a point where he had to visit a doctor because he could not tolerate it anymore.
After conducting a few tests, the doctor diagnosed Ijaz’s condition as Osteoarthritis. They prescribed medicines which he took regularly but they did not alleviate his symptoms. The current situation is that his right leg is completely immobile, and he is facing serious problems with walking. The doctors have suggested ankle arthrodesis for him which is a surgical procedure to fix his joint and set him pain free. But, Ijaz’s financial condition does not allow him to go through such an expensive surgical procedure.
He is the sole bread earner of his family with eight people dependent on his earnings. They live in a rented house and can hardly make both ends meet as his monthly income is only PKR 14,000.
“Doctors have recommended that I take a rickshaw or taxi to my workplace. That is impossible for me. I can hardly put food on the table with what I earn. How will I afford these luxuries? The only solution out of this problem for me is the surgery.”-Ijaz Masih
A ray of hope presented itself when his friend told him about the Transparent Hands. He has come to us for help and we have taken his case as we are his last hope.
Please donate to Ijaz so he can walk again. It would mean the world to him!
