Muhammad Ibrahim's Story

Muhammad Ibrahim, a 1-year-old resident of Lahore, is in desperate need of your support. Born with a severe heart condition, Ibrahim’s life is at risk if he does not receive the necessary surgical intervention. His father, a daily wage earner, struggles to make ends meet with an income of just 30,000 PKR per month, leaving him unable to afford the high costs of the required treatment.

Since birth, Ibrahim has been experiencing distressing symptoms, including shortness of breath and a bluish or greyish discoloration of his skin. These symptoms are exacerbated during feeding or any form of physical activity, making it difficult for him to thrive. His doctor has diagnosed him with the congenital heart conditions known as Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) and Double Outlet Right Ventricle. To ensure Ibrahim’s survival and improve his quality of life, the medical team has recommended both angiography and open-heart surgery for total correction.

Ibrahim’s family is shattered by his condition and the financial burden they face. His father’s meager income, combined with the mounting medical expenses, has left them feeling helpless and desperate.

Muhammad Ibrahim's Story

Muhammad Ibrahim, a one-year-old child from Lahore, had been experiencing a critical health challenge. Ibrahim's parents took him to a local hospital for consultation. Upon evaluation, he was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) and DORV (Double Outlet Right Ventricle). Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) is a congenital heart defect characterized by four specific cardiac defects. He was experiencing multiple symptoms such as shortness of breath, blue skin coloration, and rapid breathing during feeding. Ibrahim's parents were heart-wrenched to see that their son was not able to gain weight like other children his age. His doctors recommended open-heart surgery for total correction, essential for restoring his heart's functionality. Due to financial constraints, they were unable to bear the cost of his surgery. In this moment of despair, they reached out to Transparent Hands to register his case.

With the collaborative efforts of Transparent Hands, our donors, and the Pakistan Children's Heart Foundation, Ibrahim's case was swiftly processed. He was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore, where a skilled cardiac surgeon, Dr. Asim Khan, performed the necessary procedure of median Sternotomy and total correction on 27 April 2024. Ibrahim was hospitalized for nine days. During his stay, he received exceptional care and support from the skillful staff.

Ibrahim's father's shared his feelings: “My son now has a second chance at life through the support we received from Transparent Hands. Now, he can prosper in life without any obstacles.
