Fozia Shokat's Story

Life was never easy for 40 years old Fozia who is a mother of 3 bright children. From the last 5 to 6 years, she has been going through a lot of pain due to her Gallbladder stones. Initially, she didn’t take it seriously as she knew, it would cost her family a lot of money. She tolerated pain for 5 years but now, it has become unbearable for her.

She cannot even perform her household chores due to her disease. Along with severe pain, she has digestion issues with frequent vomiting. Her kids are really upset to see their mother in this condition but they are too young to do anything. Fozia’s husband took her to a local hospital where she was treated with medicines which could only provide her relief for some time. Doctors advised her surgery for permanent relief but this family is already living from hand to mouth. Her husband earns around 15,000 PKR a month out of which, they pay monthly rent of 3,000 PKR. Their financial condition doesn’t allow them to get surgical treatment from any hospital.

Fozia visited a camp arranged by Transparent Hands with her husband where she was immediately registered for surgery. She is now scheduled for her Cholecystectomy after which she’ll be able to live a pain-free life with her family.

Fozia Shokat's Story

Fozia Shoukat, 40 years old, was suffering from pain in her Rt. hypochondrium and vomiting. She was diagnosed with symptomatic gallstones and was advised surgery for her symptoms. Her open cholecystectomy was done on 23-10-19 at Lahore Care Hospital by Dr Ahmed Fawad. She remained admitted for 3 days and had good post-operative recovery. Fozia was discharged symptom free in perfect health.
