Abu Bakr Saddique's Story

76467Abu Bakr Saddique, aged 6 years, had an abnormal passage of urine flow since he was born. As he grew up, his mother noticed the anomaly. When she took him to a local doctor for consultation, the doctor diagnosed Abu Bakr’s condition as hypospadias and advised a urethroplasty for him.  In this surgery, the deficient urethral portion is reconstructed. Abu Bakr’s doctor told his parents that the surgery was crucial for the correction of his defect and the sooner he was operated the better it would be for him.

Already distressed about their child’s health, his parents got even more worried to hear this. Abu Bakr’s father is a labourer and he earns only PKR 15,000 per month. He solely supports six members of his family. His work was affected adversely since the COVID-19 pandemic started. In these circumstances, affording his child’s major surgery was impossible for him. He visited many local hospitals but Abu Bakr was not given an appointment for his urethroplasty. When all hope was lost, a nurse told their family about Transparent Hands. Abu Bakr’s father immediately visited our office to find out about our registration process. He narrated his experience in the following words:

“I went to Transparent Hands office with my son. They listened to our problem and promptly agreed to help us. It felt like a huge burden was lifted off of my shoulders. They have told me that my son will get operated with their help and I would not be asked to pay a single penny. These people have come as a huge blessing in our lives.”
