Ruqaya is a 60 years old poor woman who lives in a small town of Lahore with her young son. She has given one room for rent in her house from which she gets only 3,000 rupees a month.  This is her only source of income with which she hardly manages to make both ends meet. Her son doesn’t have any permanent job. He used to work in a printing factory but these days, he is unemployed. This family is living from hand to mouth these days. They are relying on the charity given by neighbors to support their 2 times meal.

Ruqaya cannot work because of her painful abdominal lump. She was diagnosed with paraumbilical hernia around 13 years ago. She visited many doctors but didn’t get any permanent relief. Her health has deteriorated with the passage of time. Ruqaya feels severe abdominal pain, weakness and fever. Doctor has recommended her to undergo surgery as this is the only way she can get rid of her disease. Ruqaya doesn’t have enough money to pay for her surgical expenses. She contacted a local hospital for free of cost surgical treatment but there was already a long list of patients waiting for their free surgeries.

Luckily, Ruqaya came to know about Transparent Hands through someone and her son immediately brought her here. She is now scheduled for her Mesh Hernioplasty in a few days at Akram Medical Complex. Hopefully, she’ll get rid of her painful symptoms after the surgery but she needs your immense support.
