Donate Malaika Abid for her Colostomy Closure
Malaika Abid's Story
“Your generous efforts can give Malaika her right to quality healthcare at this moment when she needs it the most. Help this little soul to live a healthy and carefree childhood.”
Malaika is a 4 years old child who was born with Anorectal malformation. This is a birth defect which happens as the unborn baby is developing during pregnancy. With this defect, the anus and rectum don’t develop properly.
Her defect has caused her immense discomfort and trouble. Before her first surgery, she has suffered from stool coming through the vagina, difficulty in bowel movement and constipation.
At the age of six months, her Colostomy was done to attach a collection bag through the opening of the stoma to let stool pass as a temporary relief. Later the doctors have advised her surgery for construction of back passage – Anorectoplasty & Reversal of temporary stoma – Colostomy closure. However, patient’s father didn’t get a response from that hospital even after visiting for several days. Luckily, she underwent Anorectoplasty through Transparent Hands with the help of kind donors like you. Now, she needs your support for her second surgery.
The Colostomy Closure is an expensive surgical procedure which Malaika’s father cannot afford. Her father is a laborer earning just 12000 PKR per month. She has two younger brothers but no one is going to school yet. They are living in a small rented house which is also shared with another family.
Your donation for her Colostomy Closure will help her gain normal control of her bowel movements and enable her to perform normal bodily functions without pain or discomfort. Help her in getting her confidence back which has shattered due to her disease as other kids laugh at her because of her condition.
