Salman Ali, a 22-year-old resident of Gujranwala, suffered a sad incident six months ago. He was working in the field of corn when his left hand was badly crushed inside the corn machine. He was taken to the hospital’s emergency ward where he was treated. The doctors did their best, but they could not save his arm. They had to amputate his left arm. The doctor advised him to get a prosthetic arm.
He lives in a small house with his parents and four siblings. His father is the only breadwinner in the family and earns PKR 12,000 per month. With this limited income, he cannot afford to pay for an artificial arm. He said it in a depressed tone.
