Donate for Saima’s Cholecystectomy
Saima Yasmeen's Story
Before you proceed to read Saima Yasmeen’s tale of woes, please know that you can help her relieve her of this pain. Your donation however small it may be, will help us arrange for Saima’s much-needed surgery. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Saima’s Cholecystectomy as much as you can.
For the last two years, Saima Yasmeen has been suffering from severe pain in her upper abdomen. Along with abdominal pain, she suffered from nausea, vomiting and abdominal stretch as well. At first, Saima ignored the pain and took some painkillers for relief. Later, when the pain persisted, she consulted a doctor. After thorough testing, the doctor diagnosed her with cholelithiasis i.e. formation of gallstones. These concretions are formed in the biliary tract in the gallbladder and are usually formed because of excessive cholesterol levels in the bile. It is this excess cholesterol that solidifies into what is commonly known as gallstones.
Saima has been through a lot of pain already, but there is one hope that has kept her sane through this tough period. It is the hope of getting a cholecystectomy. A Cholecystectomy is the surgical removal of the gallbladder. Cholecystectomy is a common treatment of symptomatic gallstones and other gallbladder conditions.
Unfortunately, Saima Yasmeen cannot afford the hefty cost of this surgery. She works as a house help and earns PKR 4000 per month. With this measly income, she can’t arrange for her surgery. She told us:
“For the last two months, the pain has increased to a point of no return. Most of the days, I am unable to get out of bed. The pain is unbearable now. Please help me.”
Finally, after a lot of distress, Saima Yasmeen has registered her case with Transparent Hands. We wish to get her happy and healthy as soon as we can. Now, all we need is your help. Please donate for Saima’s Cholecystectomy as much as you can.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
