Saiba bibi 's Story

Saiba Bibi, aged 26, hails from the Mardan district of the country and is currently pregnant. Saiba doesn’t have enough funds to afford C-section. She has already undergone two C-sections and the unavailability of funds is making the prospect of a third C-section quite gloomy. A constant ache that has nothing to do with pregnancy, but the lack of funds, has driven Saiba Bibi’s family into a state of despair.

Saiba Bibi’s husband has been jobless for a long time. That naturally means the family income has taken a severe hit. With the little support that the family is getting from Saiba Bibi’s brother, it is trying to make the ends meet but with little success. When there is 5,000 PKR per month rent, things are challenging. The husband has got himself a 10 grand driving job, but that is quite a recent development and hasn’t changed the family’s financial situation much.

“I don’t know what is going to happen if I don’t manage to arrange the funds somehow,” says Saiba Bibi’s husband. “We lost one of our kids because we couldn’t afford treatment, I am afraid this one will meet the same fate without even being born.
