Riaz Ahmad's Story
One year ago, Riaz Ahmad, aged 42, a resident of Depalpur, suffered a traumatic injury on the left leg while working in the corn fields. While operating the corn harvester machine his left leg got stuck and was damaged badly. After medical examination the doctors revealed that it was impossible to save Riaz Ahmad’s leg, he therefore had to undergo above knee amputation of the left leg. It has been almost a year since he underwent this trauma. Now, in order to perform normal day to day activities he requires a prosthesis. His wife shares Riaz Ahmad’s agony in the following words:
“My husband was a very cheerful and loving person. He loved going out, buying stuff for home and meeting people. But life does not always goes as expected. It’s been a year now and he has healed too. But in order for him to carry out daily activities he needs a prosthesis. We live in our own house with my in-laws and four children. Riaz is still supporting us even in this condition. He earns around PKR. 20,000 per month. With this amount we are unable to afford a prosthetic leg. Now that we are connected with Transparent Hands, I see a ray of hope.”

Riaz Ahmad's Story
Riaz Ahmed, aged 42 years, received a traumatic injury to his left leg while working on farming equipment in his fields. This incident took place around a year ago. As a result of the injury, his left leg had to be amputated above the knee. The doctors advised an artificial above knee prosthetic leg for his mobility. Therefore, Riaz visited HOPE Rehabilitation Center and his prosthetic leg was placed by Dr. Khalid Niazi on 04.06.2021. Since its placement, he is able to move around on his own with minimal reliance on other people.
