Forty years old Nusrat Parvin has been suffering from pain in her upper abdomen for the last two months. At first, she thought of it as minor indigestion and ignored it. However, the pain persisted for weeks. Later, Nusrat Parvin went for a check-up. After complete tests, the doctor diagnosed Nusrat Parvin with symptomatic gallstones. Symptomatic gallstones, also known as cholelithiasis, are crystal-like deposits that can form in the gallbladder.

To treat this, the doctor has advised Nusrat is to undergo cholecystectomy. Cholecystectomy is the surgical removal of the gallbladder. While the surgery offers a permanent solution to Nusrat Parvin’s problem, it is quite an expensive surgical procedure. Along with severe pain, she also experiences nausea and vomiting. Due to her pain, she is unable to perform her household chores. But they don’t have enough money to pay for the surgery.

Unfortunately, Nusrat Parvin cannot afford the hefty cost of this surgery. Nusrat Parvin lives with her brother, who drives a rickshaw and earns his living. He is in no position to arrange for his sister’s surgery. Nusrat Parvin told us:

Nusrat Parvin's Story

Nusrat Parvin, aged 40 years, suffered from frequent episodes of lower abdominal pain for the last two years. She especially had trouble digesting oily foods. On medical consultation from a local hospital, she was diagnosed with gallstones (cholelithiasis). The surgeon advised laparoscopic cholecystectomy for her. In this procedure, the gallbladder is removed in a non-invasive manner. For this reason, Nusrat was admitted to Abid Hospital and her surgery was performed by Dr. Abdul Saeed Sajjid on 27.05.2021. She stayed in the hospital for two days and was discharged in a stable condition. Nusrat’s abdominal pain has finally ended. She can perform her household chores with ease now.
