Nazia, a 32-year-old resident of Lahore, is the mother of three children. She is expecting her fourth baby. She has already delivered three babies via C-section. In the seventh month of pregnancy, she went to the local hospital for a checkup. Considering her previous medical records and current situation, the gynecologist has advised her to undergo another Lower Segment Cesarean section to deliver her baby – a surgical incision (cut) is made in the lower segment of the uterus to deliver a baby. Nazia and her baby would remain at risk without the C-Section.
Nazia and her husband live in a small house with six other family members. Her husband’s monthly income is only PKR 35,000, which barely covers their household expenses.
