Malika Bibi's Story
Before you proceed to read the gory details of Malika’s heart disease, please know that you can help her get the life-saving treatment she needs. The only thing standing between Malika and the treatment she needs is financial constraint. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Malika’s open-heart surgery as much as you can.
For forty years old Malika, life has been nothing short of a nightmare lately. For the last three years, Malika Bibi has been suffering from severe mitral regurgitation. Mitral regurgitation is a disorder in which the mitral valve on the left side of the heart does not close properly. Regurgitation means leaking from a valve that does not close all the way.
To treat this condition, the cardiac surgeon has advised Malika to undergo a CABG open-heart surgery. CABG refers to coronary artery bypass grafting, a surgical procedure used for bypassing the aforementioned blockage. Moreover, Malika will also undergo a Mitral valve replacement as well. Mitral valve replacement is a procedure whereby the diseased mitral valve of a patient’s heart is replaced by either a mechanical or tissue (bioprosthetic) valve.
Malika Bibi is constantly running to escape from the grim shadow of death. While a CABG improves the quality of life of a cardiac patient, it is an expensive surgical procedure nevertheless. Unfortunately, Malika Bibi cannot afford the hefty cost of her open-heart surgery. Malika’s husband has been jobless for a while. They manage their household expenses with the help of their relatives. Malika’s husband told us:
“Not a day went by in the last three years when we felt at ease even for a minute. Malika’s disease has put everything at the halt. We don’t know what to do anymore.”
Therefore, after a lot of distress, Malika has registered her case with Transparent Hands. We are determined to get her happy and healthy as soon as possible. But, it won’t be possible without your help. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Malika’s open-heart surgery as much as you can.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
