Muhammad Junaid's Story
Eight-year-old Muhammad Junaid lives in Peshawar. It was not apparent at first, but Junaid is a hearing-impaired patient and has never heard the voices of his parents. He has never even heard his own name. Junaid’s mother told us that he has been like this ever since he was born due to sensorineural hearing loss. There is a way to help him regain his sense of hearing, but his parents can’t afford it. You are the only one who can unlock a better future for him. His parents are praying for a generous donor like you to support their son’s cochlear impact surgery. Please donate for Junaid’s cochlear implant without any delay.
Muhammad Junaid has been suffered from sensorineural hearing loss since birth, but his parents didn’t realize this immediately. They thought he was just a calm and polite boy. They became concerned and took him to the hospital after he did not respond to voices and his name for two years. The doctor diagnosed him and after a thorough examination, advised them to get him to get a Cochlear Implant. A cochlear implant is a surgically implanted neuroprosthesis that helps a person with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss.
Unfortunately, Junaid’s parents cannot afford to bear the hefty cost of a Cochlear Implant surgery. Junaid’s father is the sole earner in the family. He works as a laborer and hardly manages to earn PKR 16,000 per month. He told us:
“My entire life’s savings wouldn’t be enough to pay for this expensive procedure. My son has already lost much of his childhood. Whoever is reading this, I request you to please help us.”
Junaid’s parents reached out to Transparent Hands after much distress. We are determined to assist him. However, we need your support to do so. Your contributions will make a significant difference. We urge you to donate for Junaid’s Cochlear Implant as much as you can.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
Muhammad Junaid's Story
Eight-year-old Junaid, a resident of Bahawalnagar, has spent his entire life in a world of silence as he was born with sensorineural hearing loss. This condition has limited his ability to experience the joys of sound and communication. Recognizing their son's struggle, his parents sought medical help, which led them to a crucial turning point in their journey. After careful evaluation, the doctors concluded that Junaid needed cochlear implant surgery to restore his hearing.
But this life-changing surgery costs a lot of money, and Junaid's family seemed to have no means of paying for it. In their time of desperation, they reached out to Transparent Hands, an organization that thrives on the collective compassion of its supporters. Through their efforts, Junaid was admitted to the National Hospital and Medical Center, Lahore, where Dr. Naveed Aslam performed the cochlear implant surgery on 3-6-2023. The operation was a success, with the internal component of the implant being fixed, and Junaid was discharged after a day in the hospital.
But this was just the beginning of Junaid's journey toward complete restoration of his hearing ability. After a few weeks, the external component of the cochlear implant was also successfully implanted, paving the way for a world filled with sounds and voices for Junaid. With the cochlear implant serving as a bridge to the realm of sound, Junaid's future now holds endless possibilities.
