Donate for Jhangiran’s Artificial Leg
Jhangiran Bibi's Story
Currently, Jhangiran Bibi is unable to stand up or walk without the help of crutches. The entire course of her life is disrupted due to her condition. Therefore, we urge you to please donate for Jhangiran’s artificial leg and help her get back up on her feet.
Fifty-eight years old Jhangiran Bibi suffers from diabetes. People living with diabetes have an increased risk of lower limb amputation. Therefore, one year ago, the doctor diagnosed him with a Diabetic foot. A diabetic foot is an infectious condition that occurs due to abnormally high sugar levels in the blood and foot infection. At first, the doctor prescribed some medication, to which she willfully obliged. However, over time her condition worsened resulting in spread of infection in his left leg, and her leg had to be amputated at the above-knee level.
After the wound healed, Jhangiran Bibi circled here and there in search of a prosthetic leg. But due to COVID 19 pandemic, all of the public healthcare’s focus is on the affected patients. Therefore, patients like Jhangiran Bibi suffer. We had a conversation with one of her daughters, and she told us:
“It breaks my heart to see my old mother walk with the help of crutches. She used to be such an active lady, always doing one thing or the other. Now, she has been bedridden for a year. We wish to see our mother active and back up on her feet again, but we cannot afford to get an artificial leg.”
Unfortunately, Jhangiran Bibi cannot afford the hefty cost of an artificial leg. Her husband works as a daily wage worker and hardly earns PKR 7000 per month. In these circumstances, he cannot arrange for her wife’s artificial leg. Therefore, he has requested Transparent Hands for help. We have assured them that we would try our best to help her walk again. Now, all we need is your help. Please donate for Jhangiran’s artificial leg as much as you can.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
