Hanifan Bibi's Story
Hanifan Bibi, a 59 years old lady, hails from the Sheikhupura district of the country and suffers from ischemic heart disease (IHD). The condition refers to a reduced blood flow towards the heart, primarily because of the build-up of plaque in the patient’s arteries. IHD is one of the most common Cardiovascular diseases and fortunately, there exists a treatment for it. Moreover, Hanifan Bibi suffers from Mitral regurgitation and Mitral stenosis as well. Seeing her condition, the cardiologist has advised her to undergo a coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Hanifan Bibi has also been advised an MVR i.e. mitral valve replacement surgery. CABG can most effectively improve the blood flow in a patient suffering from IHD. Replacement of the mitral valve is crucial for improving her heart efficiency to pump the blood.
So, what’s stopping Hanifan Bibi from undergoing these treatments that could put an end to her pain? The painful answer to that question is her financial status. You see, her husband is a labourer by profession. Or at least he was. He is currently unemployed, which means that the onus of supporting this two-membered family is largely on Hanifan Bibi’s nephew. While providing some assistance to the patient under discussion is possible for the nephew, managing her treatment is not. Hanifan Bibi says:
“Sometimes, I want to go back to the life that I was living almost a month ago. I wish I never had that ECG which gave a clue to my cardiac anomaly. I know it sounds absurd, but if you put yourself in my shoes, perhaps it won’t sound too absurd to you then. Apart from a slim chance of a miracle happening, I have nothing to bank my hopes on. Asking my nephew isn’t an option either, it will be just unfair on him, he has a family of his own to support. In fact, I would have given up already, if it were not for Transparent Hands”
You read it right, Transparent Hands is going to do everything in its capacity to ensure that Hanifan Bibi gets her treatment. But it would be a futile effort without your help. You know the patient, you know the story. All that you have to do now is DONATE for Hanifan Bibi’s MVR+ CABG NOW!
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
