Donate for Haleema’s Knee Replacement
Haleema Bibi's Story
“I do not have much to say right now. Just that I have seen my mother suffer a lifetime of pain in these last ten years. She has been bedridden for weeks now. I need you all to help her get back up on her feet. Please donate for Haleema’s knee replacement surgery.” -Haleema Bibi’s Son.
For the last ten years, Haleema Bibi has been suffering from Osteoarthritis in both of her knees. Osteoarthritis is a condition that causes the cartilage in the knee joint to thin out. In consequence, the surfaces of the joint become rougher thus, creating friction. As a result, the movement becomes painful, and the joint becomes stiff. Due to this condition, Haleema Bibi has been unable to get up or walk. Moreover, the pain has become unbearable for her.
To treat this, the orthopaedic surgeon has advised Haleema to undergo a total knee replacement surgery. It is a surgical procedure to replace the weight-bearing surfaces of the knee joint to relieve pain and disability. At first, the orthopaedic will perform this surgery on the right leg. Later, after her right leg recovers, it will be performed for her left leg. While the knee replacement seems like an easy solution to all of Haleema Bibi’s problems, it is not an accessible solution. Unfortunately, she cannot afford the hefty cost of this surgery.
Haleema Bibi is a widow who used to earn her living by working as a house help. Now, due to her illness, she cannot work anymore. Thus, she relies on her son for her expenses. Her son works at a private firm and cannot afford the cost of the surgery.
After a lot of mental and physical distress, Haleema Bibi’s son has finally registered her case with Transparent Hands. We have promised her that we will try our best to arrange her surgery in earnest. Now, all we need is your financial help. Please donate for Haleema’s knee replacement as much as you can.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
