Donate for Famia’s Cochlear Implant
Famia Zaman's Story
The first thing you will notice about Famia is her bright smile and shining eyes. However, she has never even heard her own name. It breaks our heart to see innocent kids living with a disability. Please know that even a small donation for her surgery will open up a whole new world of opportunities for her. We urge you to donate for Famia’s Cochlear Implant surgery as much as you can.
Famia Zaman, a six-year-old resident of Lahore, has not been able to live her childhood to the fullest. Famia suffers from Congenital Sensorineural Hearing Loss. When she turned a year old, her parents noticed that she was not responding or reacting to sounds. They took her to an ENT specialist at a nearby hospital, where after multiple hearing tests and evaluation, the doctor advised them to get her a hearing device. However, they couldn’t afford it. Over time, her hearing sensitivity could not develop. Upon further consultation, the doctor advised Cochlear Implant surgery.
Famia’s father works with a private company and earns just PKR 30,000 a month. He is the only breadwinner in the family and it is difficult for him to support a family of four with this meager income. The cost of this surgery is hefty and he cannot afford it. He has no financial support from any friends or relatives. Famia’s father shared his distress with Transparent Hands in the following manner:
“I want to raise my daughter like a princess. But it is absolutely heartbreaking for me to see my daughter missing out on her childhood because of this hearing disability. Transparent Hands has given me and my wife hope.”
Famia has now been connected with Transparent Hands. We are determined to help her and bring the sense of hearing to her life. But, this will not be possible without your generous contribution. We urge you to please donate for Famia’s cochlear implant surgery as much as you can.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
