Seven-year-old Fahad, a resident of Islamabad, has been suffering from dyspnea, cyanosis, and frequent episodes of chest pain since birth. He is also unable to gain weight. His parents learned about this condition when he was one year old. His parents took him to the local hospital. After a thorough evaluation and running some diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with rare and critical congenital heart conditions involving a Right Ventricle Outflow Tract (RVOTO) and Ventricular Septal Defect. His first Open-Heart Surgery for VSD Closure was performed in 2016 when he was only nine months old. After some time, he complained of chest pain and shortness of breath. His parents revisited the local hospital. After running some tests, the cardiac surgeon advised him to undergo Redo Open-Heart Surgery.

He lives in a rented house with his parents and six other family members. His father is the sole earner of the family. He is a cook and earns PKR 24,000 per month. With this meager income, he can’t afford the hefty cost of Fahad’s Redo Open-Heart Surgery. He said in despair:

Upon consultation, the doctor diagnosed him with rare and critical congenital heart conditions, such as Right Ventricle Outflow Tract Obstruction (RVOTO) and Ventricular Septal Defect. His first Open-Heart Surgery for VSD closure was performed in 2016.

After some time, he complained of chest pain and shortness of breath again. His parents revisited a local hospital. After running some tests, the cardiac surgeon advised him to undergo Re-do Open Heart Surgery for RVOTO. He was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore, where Dr. Asim performed his operation successfully on 14-11-2022.
