Donate for Azra’s Hip Replacement Surgery
Azra Kousar's Story
Azra has avascular necrosis (AVN) of the hip, due to which she cannot walk or stand properly. She also cannot take care of her household chores. Her family cannot afford to pay for her hip replacement surgery. We request you to donate for Azra’s Hip Replacement Surgery and help her walk without pain and stiffness.
Azra, a 43-year-old resident of Muzaffargarh, has been suffering from pain in the hip joints for the last 15 years. Initially, the doctor advised symptomatic treatment, but she did not recover. Her husband took her to a local hospital to consult a doctor who advised some diagnostic tests. After evaluating her reports, the doctor diagnosed her with Avascular Necrosis (AVN) of the hip joints. Avascular Necrosis is the death of tissues in a bone due to a lack of blood supply. It is also called Osteonecrosis. If it goes untreated, it may lead to tiny breaks in the bone and the affected bone may collapse. The orthopedic surgeon advised her to undergo hip replacement surgery. Her first surgery was performed in August 2021 with the support of Transparent Hands. The orthopedic surgeon has now advised hip replacement surgery on the left side. It is a surgical procedure that relies on the biological fixation of a bone to a surface coating on the prosthesis.
She lives in a small house with her husband and five children. His husband is the sole earner of the family and earns PKR 25,000 per month. He has no other source of income. Due to financial constraints, her husband cannot afford the surgical expenses.
She said in despair:
“I feel sad the whole day when I cannot get up early in the morning to make breakfast for my children. I want to get back on my feet without any pain. I request you to help me with my surgical treatment,”
She approached Transparent Hands with great hope. We registered her case and promised to provide her with the best treatment. We urge you to donate for Azra’s Hip Replacement Surgery to provide her with a pain-free life. Even a small donation can make a big impact.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.

Transparent Hands promptly registered her case and rallied the support of compassionate donors who recognized the significance of her condition and the life-altering impact that the surgery could have on Azra's quality of life. Through the collective efforts of these generous souls, sufficient funds were raised to cover the expenses of her left hip replacement surgery.
With the funds secured, Azra Kousar was admitted to Bakhtawar Amin Teaching Hospital, Multan, where she underwent her second hip replacement surgery. The skilled hands of Dr. Adeel successfully performed the operation on 17-05-2023, alleviating Azra's pain and offering her newfound hope for a brighter future. She was discharged from the hospital after four days of treatment.
Azra Kousar is currently anticipating a life in which she will no longer have to suffer from the debilitating pain that has plagued her for more than a decade. Azra Kousar owes an enormous debt of gratitude to each and every one of the donors who came together to make her road to recovery possible. Not only have their selfless contributions completely altered the course of her life, but they have also instilled in her a profound appreciation for the compassion and kindness that can be found in the world.
