Ayan Haider's Story
Ayan Haider, 7 years old, suffered from weakness, shortness of breath and cyanosis. He also frequently acquired respiratory infections since his birth. His parents always felt that he was not as healthy and agile as the other kids of his age. Therefore, they took him for medical consultation to the nearest local hospital. The doctors conducted various tests and ultimately diagnosed Ayan with a hole in his heart. In technical terms, he was born with a ventricular septal defect (VSD). Since, he was too young at the time of the diagnosis, surgery was not an option. However, now Ayan is 7 years old and his health has started deteriorating again. The doctors have now recommended an urgent open heart surgery for VSD closure.
It’s a very stressful situation for Ayan’s family as his father is a daily wager and earns only PKR 15,000 per month. All four of his children and his wife are dependent on him for all their needs. In their financial situation, they cannot afford the surgery even if they save money for an entire year.
“My son’s health is deteriorating and the only reason I cannot have him treated is because I do not have the money. No one is willing to give me a loan either. I feel very helpless and guilty as a parent for not being able to take care of my child.”– says Ayan’s father
On his physician’s recommendation, Ayan’s father brought him to our office to see if we could assist him with his son’s surgery. We have registered his case on an urgent basis. Your donations are crucial at this point of time. His life is in your hands. Therefore, we request you to make an urgent donation for Ayan’s cardiac surgery.
