Arif Khan's Story

As of now, Arif Khan has been moving around on crutches, waiting for some little ray of hope that would relieve him of his painful circumstances. You can be that little ray of hope. Ten months ago, fifty-six-year-old Arif Khan met with a horrible roadside accident which resulted in a crushed leg. Due to the severity of the wounds, his left leg had to be amputated from below the knee level. After the amputation wound healed, the doctor advised him to get a prosthetic leg installed. Prosthetic legs can help people with leg amputations get around more easily. They mimic the function and, sometimes, even the appearance of a normal functioning leg. 

Due to the COVID outbreak and partial closure of public hospitals, he is unable to get it from any public hospitals. Since he has limited resources, he cannot arrange his treatment at any private hospital. He has been out of work for many years now because of his old age and poor health. Financially, he is dependent on his nephew who helps them out in whatever way he can. Arif Khan told us:

“After my accident, I developed a fear of roads. Nobody can get it out of me. Most days, I do not feel like getting out of my bed or sitting with my family. It has been so difficult, the accident has rendered me dry of hope. I am tired now.”
