Before you dive into the gory details of Amir Ali’s ailment, please know that you can help him. A hernia is an extremely painful condition for anyone, let alone a child. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Amir Ali’s Herniotomy as much as you can. Your donations will save Amir from a lot of pain and discomfort. 

For the last three years, Amir Ali has been suffering from swelling in his inguinal region. At first, Amir’s parents did not pay attention to their son’s ailing condition. But, later, the pain and discomfort became worse. Upon ultrasound, the doctor diagnosed Amir Ali with a left inguinal hernia. An inguinal hernia occurs when tissue, such as part of the intestine, protrudes through a weak spot in the abdominal muscles. The resulting bulge can be painful. Accompanied by hernia, sadly, Amir Ali is suffering from hydrocele as well. A hydrocele is when fluid fills a male’s scrotum, causing it to swell. Hydroceles are more common in male infants than adults.

To treat these conditions, the doctor has advised Amir Ali to undergo a Herniotomy. Herniotomy is carried out under general anesthesia. A small incision is made in the groin on the side of the hernia after which the hernial contents are pushed back and the defect is fixed. Unfortunately, Amir’s parents cannot afford the hefty cost of this surgery. The patient registrar told us:

“Amir’s father is the sole earner of the family. He works as a daily wage worker and hardly manages to earn PKR 10,000 per month. Their financial situation tells us that there is no way they can afford Amir’s surgery.”
