Ali Malik's Story
Ali Malik was born with a rare and critical heart defects that need immediate surgical repair. He is at risk of heart failure. He is a young man with many future goals, but his deteriorating health is creating hurdles. His parents are not financially stable enough to pay for the expensive heart surgery. Ali Malik, a 23-year-old resident of Lahore, suffers from shortness of breath, cyanosis, and chest pain. He is also unable to gain weight. His parents got to know about his condition when he was one year old and took him to the local hospital. After a thorough evaluation and running some diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with a rare and critical congenital heart condition involving Ruptured Sinus of Valsalva Aneurysm (RSVA), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), and Aortic Regurgitation. He was unfit for cardiac surgery and was managed with medication at that time. His health is deteriorating daily, and the cardiac surgeon has advised him to undergo surgical repair for RSVA, VSD Closure and Aortic Valve Replacement.
He lives with his parents and two siblings in a rented house. His father is the family’s sole earner with a meager income of PKR 15,000. They have no other source of income. His father cannot afford the hefty cost of the cardiac surgery his son needs. His parents are concerned about the health of their only son. They are losing hope day by day. His father said with teary eyes:
“He is my only son and very dear to me. He has spent his entire childhood in pain and discomfort. His survival depends on this heart surgery. Please save my son’s heart by donating generously. “

Ali Malik's Story
Ali Malik, a young and determined 23-year-old from Lahore faced a rare and critical congenital heart condition. Despite struggling with shortness of breath, cyanosis, and chest pain, Ali refused to let his condition control his life. After a thorough evaluation and diagnostic testing, Ali's doctor diagnosed him with a Ruptured Sinus of Valsalva Aneurysm (RSVA) and Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD). Due to the complexity of his condition, Ali had to manage his health through medication for many years until he was fit enough for surgery.
Ali finally was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore, where Dr. Asim performed his operation successfully on 31-10-2022. After spending eight days in the hospital, Ali was discharged with a restored sense of hope and a new lease on life.
