Ali Hassan, a 25-year-old resident of Karachi, has been suffering from nasal obstruction and headache for the last 12 years. Upon consultation, the doctor diagnosed him with DNS. DNS (Deviated nasal septum) is defined as the deviation of the nasal septum on either side from the normal position in the nasal cavity. The nasal septum consists of bone and cartilage which divides the nasal cavity into two halves. To treat Ali Hassan’s condition, the doctor has advised a Septoplasty. A septoplasty is a surgical procedure to straighten the bone and cartilage dividing the space between two nostrils (septum).

Unfortunately, Ali Hassan cannot afford the hefty cost of the surgery. Ali Hassan is a student and financially dependent on his father who is the sole earner in the family. His father works as a farmer and hardly earns PKR 20,000 per month. With this income, he barely manages to take care of the household expenses. He told us:

“We have been postponing my son’s treatment for a long time due to financial constraints. Now, my son is tired of the constant discomfort and sickness. Whoever is reading this I request you to please help my son.”

Ali Hassan's Story

Ali Hassan, a 25-year-old resident of Shehdad Kot, had been enduring breathing issues for the last 12 years. Upon consultation, initially, he was given symptomatic treatment. The treatment did not bring him any relief. After further consultation with an ENT specialist, he was diagnosed with Deviated Nasal Septum. Ali Hassan was advised to undergo Septoplasty. Hence, he was sent to Patel Hospital for his surgery. His procedure was performed by Dr. Talha Ahmed Qureshi successfully on 12-02-2022. He stayed in the hospital for four days and was discharged in a stable condition. Ali is doing a lot better now.
