Ahmed Raza's Story
He cannot go to school due to his disease. Donate for his surgery now!
Ahmed Raza was born with Hirschsprung disease – a condition that affects the large intestine (colon) and causes problems with passing stool. The condition is present at birth (congenital) as a result of missing nerve cells in the muscle coat of the baby’s colon. When he was 10 days old, he underwent colostomy procedure in which colon was placed on his abdomen to pass stool.
Doctor advised his parents that Ahmed needs to undergo one more surgery to reverse the affected segment of colon and to close the colostomy for stool to pass through normal passage. His parents requested hospital to conduct his second surgery for free. Four years have passed but Ahmed didn’t get any surgery date yet. His parents cannot afford to get him operated from a private hospital. His father works as a labourer in a factory and earns only 16,000 rupees a month. This family struggles to make both ends meet in such meager income. There are days when they don’t even have three-times meal. Ahmed’s parents requested many institutes for funding for his surgical treatment but they didn’t get positive response from anywhere. Luckily, someone told them about Transparent Hands and they immediately came here without wasting any time.
Ahmed is now scheduled for his Duhamel procedure in a few days at Akram Medical Complex. We request you to please donate for his surgery as much as you can. Even a single penny can create a lasting impact in this child’s life.
