Shahnaz Mumtaz's Story

Shahnaz Mumtaz, a 9-year-old girl from Multan, has been experiencing poor vision. As her eyesight weakens, it is becoming increasingly difficult for Shahnaz to carry out her daily activities. Her parents took her to see a doctor, who diagnosed her with a cataract in her left eye.

The doctor recommended Lense Matter Aspiration (LMA) with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation as the most effective treatment to restore her vision. Unfortunately, the cost of this surgical procedure is beyond her family’s financial means.

Without the surgery, her vision loss may increase, leading to complete blindness. The condition may also mean that Shahnaz will be increasingly dependent on her family for her daily activities, hence deteriorating her quality of life.

Shahnaz lives in a modest house. Her father is a laborer who earns only PKR 15,000 per month and supports eight family members. He pays PKR 3000 in educational expenses and PKR 2000 in utility bills. This meager income hardly covers their basic expenses, making Shahnaz’s surgery impossible to afford.

 Her family said:

“Every day the world becomes a little less clear with her worsening eyesight. She can’t even see us anymore. We are very worried about her. She needs surgery to return to her normal life. Please help us as much as possible.”

Your donations can improve Shahnaz’s quality of life significantly. Every contribution will bring her closer to a healthier future filled with hope and opportunities. Let’s support Shahnaz, who would love to see her parent’s sadness and concerns turn into joy. Contribute now.
