Shabeeran Bachal's Story

Shabeeran Bachal, an 84-year-old woman from Hyderabad, has been struggling to see clearly for the past three years. Due to her blurry and dim vision, Shabeeran is unable to enjoy the golden years of her life. She has to rely on her family members to perform even minor tasks. Concerned about her condition, she went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After a detailed medical evaluation, the doctor diagnosed Shabeeran with a Cataract in her left eye. A cataract is the clouding of the natural lens of the eye. To enable her to see her loved ones’ faces, the doctor strongly recommended left Phaco + IOL surgery. However, her family can’t afford to pay for the surgery.

Not undergoing the surgery will lead to a worsening of the disease. It may lead to complete loss of vision.

Shabeeran lives in a small rented home with her nephew and other three family members. Her nephew works with a private organization and earns just PKR 34,000 per month.  With this meager monthly income, Shabeeran’s family finds it hard to manage utility bills along with food and other living expenses. They have no savings and no extra income, making it impossible for them to afford Shabeeran’s much-needed surgery.

Shabeeran said in despair:

“I am old now, and I just want to spend the remaining years of my life with ease and comfort. I fear that one day I will lose my eyesight completely. I don’t want to be a burden on my family. All I wish for is to see my loved ones’ faces clearly again. I ask you to kindly support me in undergoing the surgery.”

Shabeeran’s health should not be determined by financial limitations. Together, we can restore her vision, enabling her to see the things around her.

Come forward and donate to make a meaningful difference in Shabeeran’s life. Your generosity can bring light back into her life.
