Samreen Latif's Story

Samreen Latif, a 40-year-old woman from Hyderabad, has been facing a worsening illness for the past 15 years. A lump on the front of her neck that once seemed small has now grown significantly, causing difficulty in breathing, swallowing, and speaking. This increasing pressure has turned into a daily struggle, leaving her physically and emotionally exhausted. During a recent consultation, the doctor diagnosed Samreen with a Multinodular Goiter – an enlarged thyroid gland with multiple nodules. Her doctor has strongly recommended a Subtotal Thyroidectomy to remove the enlarged part of her thyroid. However, the cost of the surgery is beyond her family’s financial capacity.

If left untreated, her condition will worsen. It may obstruct her airway and lead to cancer.

Samreen has been bearing this discomfort for years. But now, the pain and pressure have reached a point where she can no longer ignore it.

Samreen lives with her husband and five children in a small mud house. Her husband works as a daily wage laborer, earning just PKR 15,000 per month. Out of her five children, three go to school, each with a monthly fee of PKR 1500. Their limited income barely covers food, schooling, and other basic needs. Saving for the costly surgery is out of the question.

With deep concern, Samreen said,

“This lump has been affecting my life for so many years. I try to stay strong for my children. However, every breath feels heavier, and every meal is a challenge now. My husband works hard, but how can we afford this surgery when we are already struggling to provide for our children? I don’t want to live in pain anymore. I just want a chance to breathe and live normally again. Help me.”

Your generosity can change Samreen’s life. With your support, she can undergo the surgery and finally be free from years of pain and discomfort. Let’s join hands and bring relief and hope back into her life.
