Basharat Ali's Story

Basharat Ali, a 43-year-old man from Lahore, is experiencing a challenging moment in his life. Life took a devastating turn for him, when a tragic incident at work injured his right hand. When his family took him to a local hospital, the doctor had to amputate his right arm below the elbow. The pain of losing his hand is not just physical it is also emotional and financial. He worries about his ability to continue working and supporting his loved ones. After a medical evaluation, the doctor recommended a right below-elbow prosthesis to restore some functionality and help him regain his independence. However, Basharat can’t afford the artificial arm.

Simple tasks like dressing himself, eating, and writing have become daily challenges. Without a prosthetic hand, Basharat’s struggles will only multiply. He will remain dependent on others for basic tasks. The lack of mobility may lead to muscle weakness, joint stiffness, and other health complications.

Despite the immense challenges, Basharat has continued working at the factory, earning PKR 30,000 per month. His monthly expenses include PKR 1500 for utility bills and PKR 3000 for his children’s education. He lives in a small house with his family, but financial constraints make it impossible for him to afford the cost of his prosthesis. Basharat reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.

With a heavy heart, Basharat shared his plea as follows:

“Losing my hand felt like losing a part of my identity. Every day, I struggle to carry out the simplest tasks, and my biggest fear is not being able to provide for my family. I just want to live an independent life again. Please help me get an artificial arm so I can rebuild my life.”

Your support can change Basharat’s life. With your generosity, he can regain his independence, continue working, and care for his family. Please donate today and help him get the much-needed prosthetic hand.
