Muhammad Ashfaq's Story

Muhammad Ashfaq, a 35-year-old resident of Pakpattan, is facing a challenging moment in his life. He had a road traffic accident, resulting in a crush injury to his left leg. His family took him to a nearby hospital. The doctor performed a thorough examination and decided to amputate his left leg above the knee level. Ashfaq was an active man, but now he struggles to stand and walk. After losing his leg, his life has been filled with hardships and challenges. His doctor advised an above-knee prosthesis to restore his ability to walk. However, the cost of an artificial leg is out of his financial reach.

Due to the amputation, simple activities like walking around the home, and getting in and out of bed have become increasingly difficult for him. If Ashfaq doesn’t get the prosthesis, he will face a future where he has to depend on others for support, and his emotional state will continue to deteriorate.

Ashfaq lives in a modest home with his wife and two young children who are currently studying. He is the sole breadwinner in the family and works at a mobile repair shop, bringing in just PKR 15000. With this meager monthly income, he hardly manages to pay PKR 2500 for utility bills, in addition to educational expenses and groceries. The cost of the prosthetic leg is overwhelming for him, leaving him in a desperate situation. During this dark time, Ashfaq turned to Transparent Hands and asked us for assistance.

Ashfaq said with teary eyes:

“After losing my leg, I dream of walking again with an artificial leg. But it’s beyond my reach. I can’t explain how helpless I feel with each passing day. I need your support to regain my independence.”

An artificial leg would change Ashfaq’s life. It would allow him to regain his independence and live a life without the constant burden of his disability. We need your contributions to help Ashfaq. Your support will allow him to reclaim his life and restore his dignity.

Let’s join hands and be a light in Ashfaq’s darkest hour.
