Arafat Bibi's Story

Arafat, a 40-year-old woman from Karachi, has been experiencing heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, and weakness for one year. She feels pain and discomfort every day. Arafat finds it increasingly difficult to perform her routine tasks and household responsibilities. Arafat went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After running some lab tests and an ultrasound scan, the doctor diagnosed Arafat with Uterine Fibroids. These are common, non-cancerous growths that develop in or on the uterus. Her doctor advised a hysterectomy, but her family is unable to pay for the surgery.

If her condition is left untreated, the uterine fibroids may continue to grow, leading to increased pain, heavy menstrual bleeding, and potentially severe anemia. This may leave her exhausted and her emotional strain would also increase.

Arafat is unmarried and lives in her brothers’ rented house. Her two brothers are daily wage laborers and earn PKR 40,000 per month, barely enough to cover their basic living expenses. They pay PKR 8000 for house rent and PKR 4000 for utility bills. On top of that, they are burdened with a loan of PKR 150,000, making it even more difficult to afford Arafat’s surgery. This procedure is essential not only for her physical health but also for her emotional well-being. The thought of regaining her strength and vitality fills Arafat with hope, but the financial burden of the surgery is overwhelming for her family. During this time of need, Arafat turned to Transparent Hands and asked for assistance.

Arafat said with teary eyes:

“I want to live without pain and enjoy my life fully. This surgery is my only hope, but I feel trapped by my financial situation. I request you to kindly help me and bring me relief from this pain and discomfort.”

Your support can change Arafat’s life, giving her the chance to reclaim her health and happiness. By contributing to her surgery, you can help her overcome this challenge.
