Ali Jan's Story

Ali Jan, a 14-year-old boy from Faisalabad, has spent his entire childhood struggling with breathlessness and chest discomfort. Ali cannot run and play like other children of his age. Even simple activities, like climbing stairs or walking for a few minutes, leave him gasping for air. Concerned about his deteriorating health, his parents took him to a nearby hospital. After multiple diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed Ali with Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD), Moderate Aortic Regurgitation, Mild Mitral Regurgitation, and Left Ventricular Volume Overload (LVVO). His heart is struggling under immense pressure, and the only way to save him is through an Aortic Valve Replacement. However, the cost of the surgery is out of his family’s financial reach.

Without this surgery, his condition will continue to deteriorate, putting his life at risk. The doctor warned that delaying the procedure may lead to heart failure or even sudden complications that can be fatal.

Ali’s father works as a grave digger and occasionally takes on labor work to make ends meet. With a monthly income of only 25,000 PKR, he struggles to provide for his family of six, including Ali’s four siblings. They hardly cover utility bills, food, and other living expenses. The family faces financial hardships and the cost of Ali’s surgery is far beyond their means. Ali’s parents wish to see their son grow in life like other kids but financial constraints are becoming a great obstacle.

Ali’s father, with tears in his eyes, said: 

“I cannot bear to see my son in pain every day. He is so young, yet he suffers a lot. Every night, I pray for a miracle, hoping for his recovery. I wish to see him healthy and strong but I can’t provide him with the necessary treatment. I feel helpless and I desperately need your support to save my son’s life.”
