Azaim Ali Awaits Inguinal Hernioplasty

Azaim Ali's Story

Azaim Ali, a 13-year-old boy from Lahore, has been experiencing pain and discomfort due to a lump in his right inguinal region. This condition has made it increasingly difficult for him to bend or engage in physical activities, leaving him frustrated. With time, his lump increased in size and became more painful. Therefore, his parents took him to a local hospital and they received a consultation from a doctor. After performing some lab tests and an ultrasound scan, the doctor diagnosed him with a right inguinal hernia. It occurs when abdominal tissue protrudes through a weak spot in the lower abdominal wall. To relieve his pain, the doctor recommended inguinal hernioplasty. Unfortunately, the surgical cost is out of his family’s reach.

If Azaim does not undergo surgery soon, his condition may lead to serious complications such as a strangulated hernia, where the blood supply to the intestine is cut off. This may cause severe pain, infection, and potentially life-threatening damage to his intestines, requiring emergency surgery.

Azaim lives in a modest house with his six family members. His father, the sole provider for the family, is a daily wage laborer and earns just PKR 40,000 per month. With this meager monthly income, they hardly manage to cover household expenses. The cost of the surgery is a heavy burden on the family, and they are scared about what would happen next. Azaim’s parents worry that without timely intervention, their son will face life-threatening health issues. During this challenging time, Azaim reached out to Transparent Hands and asked us to register his case.
