Asia Bibi Awaits Open-Heart Surgery
Asia Bibi's Story
Meet Asia Bibi, a 3-year-old little girl from Dera Ghazi Khan, who has been battling with the symptoms of shortness of breath and cyanosis since birth. Due to her condition, she looks more frail than other kids of her age. Her parents had a medical consultation with a cardiac surgeon. The doctor diagnosed her with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), which affects the heart’s ability to pump blood properly. After a comprehensive evaluation, the doctor recommended open-heart surgery for total correction to save Asia’s life.
Asia has a reduced appetite and is unable to gain weight. She gets tired quickly. Her condition has affected the growth and development of her muscles, bones, and brain cells. Asia’s parents want to see her live a normal struggle-free life. However, the expensive cost of the surgery is beyond her family’s reach. They live in a 2-marla rented mud house. Asia’s father works as a daily wager and brings in PKR 18000 only. With utility bills amounting to PKR 5000 per month and a staggering loan of PKR 60,000, there is a significant financial strain on the family, leaving no option to pay for the surgical and medical bills.
A relative told them about Transparent Hands and her parents contacted us for financial assistance.
Asia’s parents expressed their plea as follows:
“Every day we pray for a miracle and wish to see her healthy. Our daughter faces extreme challenges and struggles to breathe normally. We don’t have enough resources to pay for her life-saving surgery. Kindly support us to save our daughter’s life.”
According to the doctors, if her TOF is left untreated, it may even lead to death later in life. Therefore, Asia Bibi must undergo a life-saving procedure.
We have registered Asia’s case and need our donors’ support to give her a new life. Your generosity can give her a bright future free from her debilitating heart condition. With a cured heart, she can thrive in life and make her parents proud. Donate today.

Asia Bibi's Story
Asia Bibi, a 3-year-old girl from Dera Ghazi Khan, had been suffering from shortness of breath and cyanosis since birth. Her frail body and limited energy levels were a constant source of worry for her parents. Concerned about her condition, they received medical advice. After detailed evaluations, Asia was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a congenital heart defect that prevents the heart from pumping blood effectively. The doctor recommended open-heart surgery for total correction to save her life. Unfortunately, the surgical cost was beyond her family’s reach.
Asia lived in a small rented mud house with her seven family members. Asia’s father worked as a daily wager and earned just PKR 18000. This income was extremely insufficient to even cover their utility bills, house rent, and groceries. Affording the cost of surgery was beyond their capacity. In their search for a solution, they approached Transparent Hands. After assessing Asia’s case, we took swift action to provide her with the medical care she needed.
On November 1, 2024, Asia was admitted to the University of Lahore Teaching Hospital. The next day, Dr. Faiz Rasool performed her open-heart surgery for total correction. The procedure was a success, restoring normal heart function and improving her overall health. Asia stayed in the hospital for five days to recover under expert care and was discharged in stable condition on November 7, 2024.
Asia’s parents shared her joy as follows:
“Our little girl’s health has improved so much. She can now breathe easily and has started playing like other kids. This was possible only because of your help. We are truly thankful for your kindness.”
Asia is now recovering and showing remarkable progress. Asia’s family expresses their deepest gratitude to you and the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation for supporting this life-saving surgery.
