Muhammad Arshad, fifty-five years old, from Faisalabad is unfortunately dealing with a deadly disease known as Ischemic Heart Disease. Ischemic heart disease narrows the arteries as a result less oxygen and blood is pumped towards heart muscles. Deprivation of heart muscles from oxygen leads to heart attack. Initially, he had chest pain and hypertension. The doctors prescribed him medication but it didn’t bring him any relief and his condition worsened. Therefore, doctors recommended more medical tests along with Angiography which took place around two months before with the assistance of Transparent Hands. After this test, the Cardiologist advised Arshad to undergo a Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) surgery. Coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG) is a procedure used to treat coronary artery disease.

Arshad is a milkman and is the sole earner of his family. His family includes six members that includes him, his wife and their four children. He earns a meager sum of just PKR 14000 a month. With such a minimal income it is quite impossible for him and his family to afford the surgical expenses on his own. Arshad shares his thoughts with us in the following words:

Fifty-one years old man, Muhammad Arshad, a resident of Faislabad was suffering from chest pain for the last four years. He was taken for a consultation to a nearby hospital where he was diagnosed with Ischemic Heart Disease. Arshad was advised for a Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG). For this procedure, Arshad was admitted to National Hospital. His CABG was performed by Dr Ahmed Shahbaz on 13-10-2021 successfully. He was discharged after three days of hospital stay in a satisfactory condition. Because of your donations, Arshad’s heart is now healthy again.
