Ali Raza Awaits Mastectomy
Ali Raza's Story
Ali Raza, a 32-year-old man from Narowal, is experiencing progressive enlargement and pain in his left breast tissue, leading to discomfort and social anxiety. After struggling for a while, he finally decided to seek help from a doctor. After running some lab tests and an ultrasound scan, the doctor diagnosed him with Gynecomastia, a condition characterized by the abnormal enlargement of breast tissue in men, and recommended left-sided mastectomy. However, the surgical cost is beyond his financial capacity.
Ali faces a psychological and emotional toll due to his condition. He avoids social interactions, leaving him feeling isolated. The surgery is necessary to remove the excess tissue and restore his masculine chest contour. If his condition is left untreated, it may continue to worsen, potentially leading to extreme physical discomfort, pain, and emotional distress.
Ali lives in a small rented house with his wife and two school-going children. He is the sole breadwinner in the family, works as a daily wage laborer, and brings in just PKR 30,000 per month. They are struggling to make ends meet and covering the house rent of PKR 4000, mounting utility bills, and educational expenses of PKR 5000 is significantly challenging for them. Moreover, they are burdened by a loan of PKR 150,000. Their financial situation is stretched thin and the cost of the surgery seems unattainable. During this challenging time, Ali turned to Transparent Hands and asked us for assistance.
Ali Raza said in despair:
“I feel like I’m living in a body that isn’t mine. It’s hard to go out. I just want to feel comfortable in my own skin. The cost of the surgery is overwhelming and I can’t pay for it. Please help me during this time of need.”
After the procedure, he dreams of a life free from anxiety and discomfort.
