Akbar Ali's Story

Akbar Ali, a 72-year-old resident of Lahore, suffers from dim and blurry vision. He went to a doctor to get his eyes checked and was diagnosed with a cataract in his left eye. Akbar’s life is marked by extreme challenges due to his diminished vision. Simple tasks such as watching the screen, and recognizing his loved one’s faces have become increasingly difficult. Moreover, it has become challenging for him to go to public gatherings as his inability to see the people’s faces makes him frustrated. The doctor recommended Phaco + IOL surgery to restore his vision.

Akbar wishes to see his surroundings clearly and wants to enjoy the golden years of his life independently. He lives in a modest two-room brick house with his wife. He has four children and lives separately. Akbar is the only breadwinner of the family and hardly makes ends meet. He works as a security guard, earns PKR 24000 monthly, and pays PKR 4000 for utility bills. To make matters worse, the family is burdened with a loan of PKR 300,000. Older adults like Akbar deserve to live a peaceful and healthy life. However, due to financial constraints, the cost of the surgery is overwhelming for Akbar.

Akbar expressed his heartfelt plea as follows:

“I feel helpless when I can’t perform the routine tasks like I used to. My diminished vision affects my ability to work as a security guard. I don’t have enough resources to pay for the necessary cataract surgery. Please support me as soon as you can.”

In this time of difficulty, Akbar reached out to Transparent Hand and placed his trust in us. We urge you to come forward and donate for his life-changing surgery.

Your donations will be used for:

– His life-altering Cataract Surgery
