Adnan Needs Chemotherapy to Overcome Blood Cancer

Adnan Hameed's Story

Meet Adnan Hameed, a 34-year-old man from Faisalabad, who is experiencing bone pain, fatigue, and weight loss. He is susceptible to infections which affect his daily activities and ability to provide for his family. To seek medical relief, Adnan went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After running some lab tests, the doctor diagnosed Adnan with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) – a fast-growing cancer that affects the bone marrow and blood. The doctor recommended ten cycles of chemotherapy. Adnan has received five cycles on his own and needs five more cycles of chemotherapy. Unfortunately, he can’t afford to pay for his remaining treatment.

Not receiving chemotherapy for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) may lead to disease progression. It may significantly reduce Adnan’s survival chances as the leukemia will continue to grow and spread.

Adnan is unemployed and he doesn’t own a home. He lives in someone else’s home and his siblings support him financially. He has three children who are also affected by their family’s financial struggles. Adnan and his family are living in extreme poverty and lack the means to pay for his chemotherapy. Despite these challenges, Adnan is determined to fight for his life and be there for his loving wife and three children. With hope in his heart, he reached out to Transparent Hands and requested assistance.

Adnan said in despair:

“I feel very sad and lost. Every day is a struggle, and I worry about my family. I just want to get better so I can take care of them. It hurts to see them suffer because of my illness. I want to be strong again. Please help me to get the much-needed treatment.”
