Abuzar Awaits Speech Therapy to Speak Properly
Muhammad Abuzar's Story
Muhammad Abuzar, a 3-year-old boy from Bahwalnagar, had lived in a world of silence since birth. He had never known the joy of hearing his mother’s voice and the laughter of his siblings. After a visit to the hospital, Abuzar’s doctor recommended cochlear implant surgery to treat his congenital sensorineural hearing loss. Through the support of Transparent Hands, he underwent successful surgery on February 15, 2025. Abuzar is now able to hear the sounds around him. However, he can’t recognize and interpret sounds, as his brain is unfamiliar with them. Therefore, his doctor advised him to undergo speech therapy sessions. Unfortunately, the cost of the treatment is out of his family’s reach.
If Abuzar does not receive speech therapy, he may struggle to communicate despite the successful cochlear implant surgery. Moreover, he may miss the critical period for speech development, making it difficult for him to interact with the world around him.
Abuzar lives in a modest home with his parents and siblings. His father, a police constable, is the sole breadwinner of the family, earning PKR 60,000 per month. This income just covers their household expenses, including utility bills, and food expenses. With so many financial responsibilities, affording the necessary speech therapy for their little boy is beyond their means. His parents have turned to Transparent Hands in the hope of securing Abuzar’s future. His family said:
“We just want to communicate with Abuzar. We have dreamt of that moment for a long time. He underwent cochlear implant surgery, but we don’t have enough money to pay for his speech therapy. Please help Abuzar during this time of need.”
Every child deserves the chance to communicate, to laugh, and to express their feelings. Your support can help Abuzar find his voice and embrace the sounds of life. Let’s stand together and give him the gift of speech!
