Transparent Hands is going to organize a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session in Nooriabad, Sindh. This initiative has been taken to reach underserved communities and provide them with much-needed quality healthcare. Nooriabad, an industrial region, faces significant challenges when it comes to accessing quality healthcare. Through this medical camp, we aim to bridge the gap in healthcare services and ensure that the people of Nooriabad receive the medical attention they deserve.

Challenges in Nooriabad

In Nooriabad, the residents face numerous health problems including malaria, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory tract infections, skin infections, liver infections, and typhoid. Some non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and stroke are also prevalent among the population.

Many low-income individuals can’t access the on-time diagnosis and treatments for their illnesses. The few local hospitals in the area are often overwhelmed and unable to meet the growing health demands of the population. The private ones are usually too expensive for the underprivileged. This shortage leads to untreated illnesses and worsening health conditions in the communities of Nooriabad.

Solution

To address these health issues and significantly impact the lives of deserving patients, we are going to set up a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session in Nooriabad. It will play a crucial role in alleviating the healthcare crisis in the region, offering hope and healing to those who are living without access to proper medical care. Transparent Hands, with the collaboration of Lucky Knits Private Limited, recently arranged a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session to provide

quality healthcare to impoverished patients. On 19th September 2024, the free medical camp was held at Lucky Knits Private Limited, Milestone, Karachi Hyderabad Motorway, Beside Edhi Village, Kathore, Karachi.

Free Consultations, Medicines, and Diagnostic Tests

A total of 627 deserving patients received free consultations from our experienced doctors. General check-ups, medicines, blood pressure check-ups, eye check-ups, diabetes tests, and hepatitis B & C screenings, were provided free of cost. Moreover, free eyeglasses were also given to a large number of patients who had eyesight issues. Here is a summary of different diagnostic tests provided at the free medical camp.

Preventive Healthcare Session

Aside from medical services, our expert doctors held a preventive healthcare session for the attendees at the free medical camp in Karachi. The session focused on personal hygiene. The doctors discussed how the lack of personal hygiene can cause various health issues and the ways to improve personal hygiene.

Diseases and Treatments

Most of the patients who received consultations were suffering from skin allergies, fever, diabetes, pains, hypertension, gastric problems, cough, flu, and body weakness. Additionally, free medicines were given to a large number of needy patients.

The free medical camp made a difference in the lives of 627 deserving patients. By providing quality healthcare we cater to the health needs of underserved residents. Karachi’s dense population and high poverty levels often leave many people without proper medical care.

Our dedicated team of healthcare professionals ensured that each patient received thorough care and advice on managing their conditions. In addition, a preventive healthcare session was conducted to educate people and encourage healthy lifestyles and better hygiene practices to prevent the spread of common diseases.

The medical camp team consisted of 19 members, including 2 supervisors, 3 doctors (2 males and 1 female), 2 lab technicians, 1 staff nurse, 2 pharmacists, 4 patient registrars, 1 photographer, 1 driver, and 2 crew members.
