Transparent Hands is organizing a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session in Karachi to provide free healthcare services to underserved communities. This initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to make quality healthcare accessible to all, especially those who cannot afford basic medical services. We will provide various healthcare services including check-ups, diagnostic tests, medicines, and treatments.

Challenges

Karachi is one of the largest cities in Pakistan. However, the absence of affordable healthcare leaves low-income families vulnerable to diseases that could otherwise be easily prevented or treated. Without access to regular checkups, diagnostic tests, and medications, even minor health issues can turn into life-threatening conditions.
According to a WHO report, 40% of the people in Karachi had pre-diabetes, 18% had hypertension, and 53% had abdominal obesity.
Karachi’s pollution and overcrowded living conditions further contribute to the rise in communicable diseases, especially among children and the elderly.

Solution

To resolve these health issues, Transparent Hands is stepping in to offer a solution by organizing a free medical camp. Our team of dedicated doctors and nurses will be on-site to provide immediate care and consultations. At the free medical camp, we will offer the following free health services to underprivileged people in Karachi.

· General Check-Ups
· Gynecology Check-Ups
· Hepatitis B & C Screenings
· Uric Acid Tests
· Cholesterol Tests
· Hemoglobin Tests
· Liver Function Tests (LFTs)
· Renal Function Tests (RFTs)
· Malaria & Cholera Tests
· BSR (Blood Sugar) Tests
· Blood Pressure Monitoring
· Preventive Healthcare Session
· Deserving Surgical/Medical procedure cases will be registered

Preventive Healthcare session

Our team of doctors will conduct a preventive healthcare session on Scabies. Scabies is a parasitic infestation caused by tiny mites, specifically Sarcoptes scabiei, that burrow into the skin, leading to intense itching and rashes.

This session will empower individuals with knowledge to protect themselves and their families from this prevalent health issue in Karachi. The doctors will discuss the risk factors, causes, and precautionary measures to protect themselves from scabies.

Transparent Hands, with the sponsorship of PARCO (Pak-Arab Refinery Limited), recently organized a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session to provide quality healthcare to underprivileged patients. Diseases and Treatments

At the free medical camp, most of the patients who received consultations were suffering from flu, skin allergies, scabies, fever, diabetes, body pains, cough, and stomach issues. Moreover, free medicines were given to a large number of deserving patients.

Preventive Healthcare Session

Our expert doctors held a preventive healthcare session for the attendees at the free medical camp. The session focused on the prevention and management of Scabies. It is a parasitic infestation that causes an itchy skin rash all over the body.

Impact

The free medical camp made a difference in the lives of 982 deserving patients and their families. Despite living in an urban city, many poor patients can’t afford the necessary interventions for their health issues. We addressed the health needs of underprivileged communities by providing them with free check-ups, diagnostic tests, and medicines.

Moreover, through a preventive healthcare session, we provided knowledge about the risk factors, causes, and management of Scabies, as it is a common health issue among the residents of Karachi. Overall, the medical camp positively impacted the lives of needy people, giving them a healthy life.

Medical Camp Team

The medical camp team consisted of 19 members, including 2 supervisors,  3 doctors ( one male and two females), 2  lab technicians, 3 pharmacists, 4 patient registrars, 3 crew members, 1 photographer, and 1 driver.
