Restoring Eyesight and Smiles in Lahore

Transparent Hands is making a significant difference in the lives of underprivileged communities by arranging free medical camps across Pakistan. This time, we are going to arrange a free medical camp to uplift low-income communities in Lahore. This camp will positively change the lives of deserving patients and will enable them to lead a healthy life. They will receive free eye and dental checkups, examinations, eyeglasses, medicines as well as treatments.

Challenges

Despite living in an urban city, many needy individuals face significant challenges in accessing eye and dental care. Poor eye health is common, affecting productivity and quality of life. Meanwhile, dental problems such as cavities, gum disease, and toothaches are often left untreated due to high treatment costs at private hospitals and long waiting periods at local hospitals. These issues, if left unchecked, lead to severe complications, impacting both young and elderly residents alike.

According to a WHO report, the prevalence of dental caries is 50-70% in Pakistan. Moreover, 51% of residents are affected by the cataract and over 13000 new cases of conjunctivitis have been reported in Punjab recently.

Solution

Transparent Hands is organizing a combined eye and dental camp in Lahore to provide free eye exams, dental check-ups, treatments, and medications to those in need. This initiative will ensure that residents receive comprehensive care under one roof. By offering eyeglasses and addressing dental issues, our camp aims to restore both vision and smiles, relieving residents from the discomfort of untreated health problems and enhancing their overall well-being.
