Challenge:
The Tharparkar area in Sindh is mostly rural, underdeveloped and not readily accessible. Due to this, there is a lack of any infrastructure. Often stricken by climatic disasters such as droughts, Tharparkar is currently rife with healthcare problems. What little water is available to its residents is found in wells and is mostly unhygienic to consume. As a result, diarrhea is common in the inhabitants. Other than that, pneumonia, acute respiratory infections and malnutrition are commonly presented too. The infant mortality rate is very high in many regions of Tharparkar. Moreover, women’s health is neglected due to a lack of literacy.
Mithi, though the capital of the Tharparkar district, is way behind in meeting the healthcare needs of its citizens. Civil Hospital Mithi, being the only district hospital, is always overburdened. With almost 1.5 million people to serve, the hospital wards have no space to accommodate patients, the nurses and doctors have to work overtime on low pay and hospital equipment and resources run short.
Our Solution:
Transparent Hands has taken the initiative to provide free healthcare facilities in Mithi, Tharparkar by arranging a medical camp there. The aim of this camp is to help out as many patients as possible with a team of specialists. All patients attending this camp will be given careful attention. Along with the provision of free medicines and diagnostic facilities, any cases requiring extensive treatment will be assessed and registered with the organization.
In order to ensure the success of this camp, please donate to our efforts to provide accessible healthcare to the undeveloped regions of Sindh.
