Let’s Bring Quality Healthcare to Mothers and Children in Kasur
Transparent Hands is organizing another free medical camp in Kasur, with a special focus on maternal and child health. This initiative reflects our commitment to improving the lives of mothers and children across Pakistan, especially in underserved regions. Through this camp, we also aim to contribute to Pakistan’s progress towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3, which focuses on good health and well-being. Kasur’s healthcare system faces many challenges, often leaving low-income families without access to essential medical services. Our camp will serve as a lifeline for these communities and bridge the gaps in access to quality healthcare.
Challenges
In Kasur, mothers and children experience significant health challenges. Malnutrition among children is common, and many women lack access to essential gynecological care. Poverty and limited awareness further worsen these issues, leading to preventable complications during pregnancy and childbirth. Children suffering from undiagnosed malnutrition are at risk of delayed development and many health problems.
According to UNICEF data, for every 1000 babies born, 42 die as newborns and 62 die as infants. These challenges highlight the need for accessible, and high-quality healthcare to address critical health concerns in Kasur.
Our Solution
Transparent Hands plans to organize a comprehensive free medical camp in Kasur as part of our recently launched mother and child healthcare initiative. A team of experienced healthcare professionals, including a gynecologist, pediatrician, and nutritionist, will provide necessary medical services to meet the specific needs of mothers and children in the community.
The following services will be delivered at the free medical camp in Kasur:
-Consultations with a pediatrician
-Gynecological check-ups for women
-Blood Pressure check-ups
-Nutritional screening for children
-BMI calculation
-Blood sugar tests
-CBC
-Ultrasound scans for women
-Preventive Healthcare Session
-Deserving Surgical/Medical procedure cases will be registered
Preventive Healthcare Session
The medical camp will also include a preventive healthcare session to raise awareness about an important and common health issue faced by the people in this area. Our goal is to empower families with the knowledge needed to improve their long-term health and well-being.
