Shikarpur is the capital of Shikarpur District in Sindh and is known for its literary history.
The residents face significant barriers to accessing timely healthcare. As a result, numerous families delay seeking treatments for illnesses, leading to untreated health issues and worse health outcomes. Without regular check-ups, the diseases go undiagnosed, posing severe risks to community health.
In Shikarpur, common health issues include hypertension, diabetes, and some infectious diseases like malaria. Some other diseases include diarrhea, typhoid and cholera.

To positively impact the lives of needy people, Transparent Hands is organizing a free medical camp in Shikarpur, bringing essential healthcare services directly to the community. Our medical team will provide check-ups, diagnostic services, and medications. This camp will serve as a lifeline, ensuring that residents receive the much-needed medical attention. Transparent Hands, with the sponsorship of Pak-Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO), recently arranged a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session to extend essential medical support to underprivileged communities. The free medical camp was held on 9th November 2024 at the Rural Health Center, Rahimabad, District Shikarpur. The primary objective of this medical camp was to uplift low-income communities in Shikarpur and provide them with crucial medical care.

A total of 1180 deserving patients received free consultations from our expert doctors. Medicines, general check-ups, blood pressure check-ups, ultrasound scans, diabetes tests, uric acid tests, hepatitis B & C screenings, cholesterol tests, CBC, malaria, typhoid, and electrolyte tests were provided free of cost. Diseases and Treatments
At the free medical camp in Shikarpur, most of the patients who received consultations were suffering from flu, skin allergies, scabies, fever, diabetes, body pains, cough, and stomach issues. Additionally, free medicines were given to a large number of needy patients.
Preventive Healthcare Session
Our expert doctors held a preventive healthcare session for the attendees at the free medical camp. The session focused on the prevention and management of Scabies. The doctors also discussed how the lack of personal hygiene can lead to scabies.
