Challenges
Lahore’s underserved communities face significant health challenges, particularly in accessing quality eye care services. Limited access to healthcare facilities often results in untreated eye conditions, which can lead to deteriorating vision or blindness. Additionally, poor sanitation and water quality contribute to infections and other preventable eye diseases. Non-communicable diseases like diabetes and hypertension also increase the risk of serious eye complications. Addressing these challenges requires accessible medical services and health education to prevent and treat vision-related issues.
Our Solution
Transparent Hands is organizing a free eye camp along with a preventive healthcare session to provide comprehensive eye care services to those in need. Qualified eye specialists will conduct eye check-ups, provide necessary medications, and distribute free eye glasses. Patients requiring further treatments or surgeries will be registered with Transparent Hands and referred to our trusted panel hospitals.
Your contribution can make a lasting difference. By supporting this initiative, you will help improve the vision and quality of life for numerous individuals in need. Join us in restoring sight and promoting eye health through your generous donations.
Transparent Hands, with the collaboration of Life Hospital and UCP, recently organized a free eye camp to provide quality healthcare to underprivileged people. The free eye camp was held on 30th August 2024 at Millat Equipment Factory, Raiwind Road, Lahore. Our dedicated team of ophthalmologists and healthcare professionals worked efficiently to ensure that every patient received thorough eye examinations, accurate diagnoses, and appropriate treatments.
Free Eye Check-Ups, Medicines, and Glasses
The camp aimed to bring free eye care services to underprivileged individuals. A total of 132 deserving patients received eye checkups and medicines free of charge. In addition, free glasses were also provided to many patients suffering from eyesight issues.
Diseases and Treatments
Most of the patients who received medical consultations were suffering from Cataract, Conjunctivitis, Myopia, Glaucoma, Pterygium, and Stye.
Impact
The camp was a great success and made a difference in the lives of 132 deserving patients. Many patients, who had been struggling with impaired vision for years, received eyeglasses, which improved their quality of life significantly. For others, timely diagnosis of eye conditions, such as cataracts and glaucoma meant they could begin necessary treatments to prevent vision loss.
Moreover, the distribution of free medicines ensured that patients could manage their eye conditions without financial strain. We also registered cases of two patients who needed cataract surgery. This transformative initiative was made possible through the generosity of our supporters. Through their valuable support, we were able to extend quality eye care services to impoverished communities.
We are committed to continuing our mission of bringing essential healthcare services to the needy, and this camp in Lahore was a powerful step toward that goal.
Medical Camp Team
